landscape representing inner peace, well-being

In this post I would like to share some reflections to accompany you in accepting difficult situations in your life, avoiding suffering and living with wellbeing and inner peace. The content of this post is based on concepts from the science that frees you from suffering: Acceptology. This was the pedagogical project promoted by the Colombian philosopher, Gerardo Schmedling.

Science is based on observation and experimentation with the aim of discovering laws by which they are governed. It employs hypotheses and theories that may be misleading in their assessment, but not in their outcome. That is why Gerard considered Acceptology as a science, because when a person cannot accept something and struggles to change it, it always gives the same result of inner conflict and suffering.

The external reality never changes, because its existence obeys the correspondence with the interior of the individual who lives it. Only when the interior changes, it generates a new reality for him. This is the scientific reality, when we stop struggling to change the external reality, when we accept reality as it is, we are ready to live a new reality because the previous one can teach us nothing more. He who succeeds in accepting his present reality needs nothing more. The universe is efficient, and no one will be subjected to an examination or test that he has already passed or already knows.

In this line we can understand that struggling to impose one's will, ideals, to change others and the course of life so that external events accommodate one's individual preferences, is a waste of time and an endless source of suffering. It is clear that one has to go after one's dreams and goals. However, it is one thing to do so smoothly and following the direction of the wind, and another to do so obsessively and against the current.

When I can understand that the general collective wisdom rules and decides independently of my will. Then I can accept that I am under its command. Trusting that everything that happens is perfect, necessary and fulfils a purpose of love, even if it is not necessarily an act of love or good love. This understanding allows me to enjoy all that is there for me, giving up my own expectations to follow the established collective unfolding.

Another fundamental idea is to understand that everything that generates conflict, struggle, wear and tear, suffering, discomfort, that which does not give me good results, that which feeds the ego, that which takes away my inner peace and makes me ill, does not belong to me. I must learn to let go of it, to align myself with the unfolding of life, its will and to live what is right for me. To renounce changing others and everything that does not depend on me, to suffer and to act on what I must do and what depends on me.

I must understand that I alone cannot and do not know what is best for me, so I must trust the collective will and even give up free will to be guided by it.

Peace is the result of the integration of opposing conflicts and the renunciation of what does not belong to me or does not depend on me. Once I have become desensitised, i.e. I can see reality with neutrality, I can observe when my inner self is disturbed without it being noticed externally, and transform my angry reactions into a kind response, respecting each person's process. Peace is more valuable than anything else, it raises your vital energy, it is synonymous with health and allows you to access the higher states of consciousness of the human being. With training you can move from temporary peace to permanent peace.

The Promised Land is a state of mind where I have already succeeded in freeing myself from the bondage of ignorance, where I no longer allow external situations to affect me and recognise the falsity of the principles of thoughts that bring suffering and pain. I have faith and absolute certainty that positive and loving thoughts will happen, and I think only the best by imagining things that bring me inner peace.

TAKE ACTION

If you take just one of these reflections, you will notice an improvement in your inner peace. Imagine all the wellbeing you can experience when you apply them all at once.

  • Make a list of everything that generates suffering in your life and identify what you are not accepting. Once identified, stop fighting and wanting to change it and accept it within yourself or work on changing your inner perception.
  • Renounce complaining, suffering, fear, criticism, judgement, comparison and airy reaction.
  • Renounce any expression that is not of love. Say nothing unless it is true, necessary and kind. Change the station, like a radio, from thoughts of fear to thoughts that bring peace and wellbeing.
  • Give up control of your life in order to place yourself under the will of life.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or if you want to go deeper into any of these points.

Please share the post if you found it interesting, so the contents can reach more people, and more people will have a life full of wellbeing and inner peace.

Thank you very much.
